The carer holds their own insurance cover

The carer has responsibility to obtain and maintain their training and development

The carer can demand a reasonable hourly rate to take into account their costs and earn a suitable living wage

Access to a resource of carers will provide flexibility to cover sickness,

A direct arrangement can be flexible for both the carer and clients needs.  Each can come to an agreement over the terms of their care.

When the relationship is not working on the part of either party, then each can freely withdraw and find suitable alternatives.
